Our Work

Here is a review of some of the projects we have been engaged in over the last few years to make Elkhart County a safer more enjoyable place to ride a bicycle...

In the area of Bicycle Infrastructure...

We assisted the city of Goshen and Goshen College with the completion of their League of American Bicyclists Bicycle Friendly Community applications.

We participated in the creation of the Michiana Area Council of Government's Active Transportation plan.

We helped with the funding and placement of bicycle racks in downtown Elkhart.

We have encouraged and supported the development of bicycle and pedestrian trails in Elkhart, Nappanee, and Wakarusa our efforts contributing to the city of Elkhart receiving a $642,000 Next Level Trails Grant for it's River Greenway Trail.   We've also been actively involved in the push to design and construct a trail from Elkhart to Mishawaka, in St Joseph County Indiana.

We have designed and distributed free Elkhart County Bicycle Maps, our Ride Guides, showing existing trails and safer bicycle roots in the Elkhart, Goshen, and Middlebury areas.

In the Area of Bicycle Education...

A number of officers on our board are certified League of American Bicyclists Instructors, qualifying them to teach bicycle safety classes to adults, children, and motorists using training material provided by the League.

In the Area of Promoting more Cycling...

We have participated in or hosted numerous community events including Bike (to work) Week,  Elkhart Envirofest, Goshen First Fridays, Summer Rides for people of all abilities, and our annual Quilt Gardens Ride.

We've supported the Chain Reaction Bicycle Project in Goshen and are helping with the new Life Cycle Program to provide affordable alternate transportation for the marginalized and economically challenged.

We participated in the 2023 Michiana Kids' Bicycle Giveaway
